Biography & Career

Passionate About Inspiring Others

Kentaro has been tutoring English, Japanese, and linguistics during his own time throughout college and decided that he would like to start a business in teaching each topic. His main focuses of interest are linguistics, ESL, and Japanese. During his undergraduate program, he started as a Japanese major, however, after a few semesters of college, he tried taking an introduction linguistics course and found a greater passion in linguistics. Hence, Kentaro decided to major via the English department and get an degree via the Linguistics option. Since Kentaro was placed in Advanced Japanese, he decided to get a minor in Japanese by taking upper division courses. Later, Kentaro tried taking dance courses and decided he found a passion to dance; therefore, he decided to get a Dance minor as well.

During Kentaro's final semester of college, he was informed that he was chosen as a Mortar Board Outstanding Senior of the English Department via the Linguistics program. This is when Senior Recognition Awards are annually sponsored by the University of Montana where one senior from each department and each organization is honored with an engraved medallion and award certificate.

Kentaro was awarded with a CELTA certificate (the Certificate in English Language Teaching) by the University of Cambridge, UK in December 2018. The CELTA program is the most widely accepted TESOL program in the world. His background in linguistics and teaching has helped him accomplish these goals and he plans to pursue a Masters degree in ESL, Applied Linguistics or in the field of Syntax and Psycholinguistics.

Kentaro was the secretary for the Japanese Student Association of the University of Montana for two years. He has meritorious performance of assisting Japanese foreign exchange students and provides admirable support for whatever the situation.

In conclusion, Kentaro realized that linguistics is a topic that will help everyone learn languages in an easier way. Linguistics is a difficult topic; however, it is a topic that will benefit people who are trying to learn two or more languages. He would like to introduce and provide everyone another method to learning more than one language in a helpful and effective way with positive results.
